The morning that we were supposed to have Christmas Dinner with Grandpa Bruce, Grandma Sharon and the Ottawa clan I went into labour. I guess Oliver wanted his arrival to be different from his brother and sisters, so he surprised us by coming early, on his time. After waking up at 5am with contractions, he ended up being delivered via c-section around noon that day. I eventually woke up Trevor around 6am to tell him I thought I was in labour and my parents were at our house around 730 so we could head to the hospital. Greyson was very emotional about us leaving for the hospital, it didn't help that we woke him up to say goodbye. Alexis on the other hand was totally fine with it. The labour with Oliver was much shorter than when I had Greyson, but still just as enjoyable (note the sarcasm). He was 11 pounds, 8 ounces and 23.75 inches long and therefore wins the award for the biggest of the group. My Doctor and all the nurses were lovely as usual. We even got our favourite nurse Deb, who we have had for all three babies now. My tolerance for the hospital was much lower this time, I couldn't take the bed any longer after the second night and wanted out of there (Trevor as well). We had a very relaxing first night at home just the 3 of us, and Oliver has been a perfect little baby since then. So happy that baby Oliver Joseph James Padfield is here safe and sound!
