Celebrations, Caldfields, CupCakes, Cutting Grass/Hair & CN Trains

August 13th Greyson and I took Andrea out for dinner to Boston Pizza with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Katie, Auntie Sabi, and Auntie Linds. Greyson showed his appreciation for his mom's 30th bday by having a meltdown and spending all but 15 mins outside in the parking lot. Greyson made sure to sleep soundly once we got home for cake and ice cream though.
Happy 30th Andrea/Mom!

Saturday, the Caldfield's arrived for their first glimpse of Greyson. We've all been excited for this visit for Greyson to meet his only cousins so far to date, Eydie & Jonah, and to meet his Aunt Nic & Uncle CJ.
That day we did some visiting and Jonah & I cut the grass with the tractor to prep for the Big Birthday bash the next day.

Sunday we celebrated Jonah's 3rd and Andrea's 30th birthdays with the Birss', Padfield's & Mayer's for a pot luck BBQ. The Weather held up great, only one small shower came through. I think Jonah had a blast.
The week before, I spent my nights preparing a Pinata in the form of a CN train engine for Jonah to smash open and gather up a mixture of candy. The pictures tell the true life story of the pinata.
Thanks to everyone for coming down to Norwich, and bringing all the tasty food and making it great birthday celebration.
Tell Jonah that Willy misses his buddy.

1 MONTH OLD, that was fast....

I can't believe it's already been a month.
He's doing so well, he slept 7 hours the other night, and is eating about every 2hrs during the day to make up for the loss of food during his slumber. We already see signs of development, he's focusing on faces and then trying to follow you around the room when you move out of sight. He's still a mama's boy, never really settles in for a cuddle with anyone but Mom unless in a milk coma, so i have find ways to for boy time. So far, boy time is bath time. If i could form a bouncy chair out of my beer gut, then I'd steal a few more cuddles. I'm jealous of the darn bouncy chair!!!!

Routine can be your best friend, and worst enemy!

So, we're all slowly learning about each other's routines, which really means we're learning about his routine.
The boy is still sleeping through the night about 5-6hrs still, last night was 6.5 hrs! He's also eating well too, weighed in at 11lbs 10oz today for his weekly Well Baby Clinic visit.
Last weekend we trialed our first dinner out at a restaurant with a 2.5 week old, and spent most of the time away from the table, walking him around, feeding him outside in the car, passing him to aunts and uncles, grandparents and great aunts/uncles. We knew we were asking for it, because dinner was at 730pm, and he was a sleeping angel, until the clock struck 8pm, and the devil took over the boy until 930pm, right on schedule. That's right, we only have a devil child for 1.5 hrs a day, jealous huh???
This week, Grandma Barb came by with the Mayer's long time friend and neighbour Linda Bender. Linda's daughter Tammy met everyone here later on, and brought her newest addition, Jenna, who is 3.5 months old. It's pretty clear by the photos that our little man is a little monster for his age.
We're all excited for our visitor's this weekend, Cousins Jonah, Eydie and Uncle CJ and Auntie Nic, who have yet to meet Greyson, other than over the web. Sunday we are hosting a dual Birthday Party for Jonah's 3rd, and Andrea's 30th. Let's pray for no rain.

SLEEPING = GROWING!

Ok.....we were told not to tell anyone, but Greyson is sleeping 5-6hrs straight every night now for the last week, and is really getting into a routine. For all those people who are saying right now "everything can and will change", well we're bragging about it now, and are going to enjoy it while it lasts! :)
It seems that the country air has not only helped him sleep, because he's also growing just fine too! He's gained another 7 oz from last week, so he's right on schedule. We've had to upgrade to larger diapers already, since he's well on his way out of the 10lb range.
So far, he enjoys greeting his dad with meltdowns when i get home so excited to see him. I'm testing some new techniques to bring him around( walks outside, bum pats while laying on my leg, and bath time).
This is so much fun.

Last Weekend before Dad return's to Work

This past weekend we had some visits from all 5 Grandparents and Greyson's first introduction to Auntie Linds and  his future Jujitsu Sensi, Uncle Kev.
Saturday, Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Sharon came by with a lasagna and fresh corn for dinner, and some tasty raspberry pie.(Thanks again!)
Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Mayer picked up Gramma P and drove down to have some smoked pulled pork sandwich's and more fresh corn. Auntie Linds and Uncle Kev,  brought Greyson his first ice cream cake!
Monday, we took some time for ourselves and the boy before I had to go back to work the next day.
